Why? Our bodies were meant to dance. Dancing is a form of expression, a healthy way for us to jiggle and wiggle all of our earthly cares away, but with dancing comes a trance state, much like the theta wave state of shamanism, and that is why many shamans dance to commune with Spirit.
Dance With Sasquatch? Shamanism, at least some forms, encourage participants to dance and be present in their bodies so all the senses experience the joys of awakening to Spirit. Dancing and movement is encouraged in shamanistic practice as it had been practiced for thousands of years by our predecessors. Shamans in Siberia and elsewhere claim the Sasquatch people themselves also practiced shamanism and co-created in Spirit with other shamans. In our hustle and bustle of daily life, the practice of mindfulness encourages us to be present, to be in the now.
So Dance with Sasquatch! Whenever I get stuck creatively or feel emotionally triggered, dancing is a great release, and what better way to dance and have fun than with a 9 to 10 foot tall Spirit Guide with a groovier rhythm than mine?!
